A Few of My Favorite Things in St. Charles: Coffee Edition

Elizabeth Landry

My favorite thing about coffee, now and even growing up, has always been sharing a cup with someone. I remember having coffee with my mom and dad when I’d come home from college, or my dad making it and bringing it to me before I went to work. Coffee is always better when someone else makes it.

Sometimes my day gets started a little later than I planned because I enjoy the camaraderie more than the actual cup itself. For me, coffee has always been about connection, conversations that meander, catching up with someone I love, or simply being together in the same space with our mugs in hand.

When I meet someone out for coffee, my favorite places in St. Charles are Upshot Coffee and Picasso’s Coffee House.

Upshot Coffee is my go-to for a perfectly crafted cappuccino and a little inspiration. The space has this modern, clean vibe that somehow still feels cozy. It is where I like to meet a friend who appreciates a great cappuccino as much as I do.

Then there is Picasso’s Coffee House, which feels like the heartbeat of historic Main Street. It is warm, welcoming, and the kind of place where you can sink into a comfy chair and lose track of time. I have had some of my favorite conversations here, often over a vanilla latte or something seasonal from their menu. It is also the perfect place to people-watch when Main Street is buzzing with festivals and events.

There are plenty of other favorites I could tell you about in St. Charles, from places to eat to shops to explore... I thought we would start where every good day begins, with coffee.

These days, I still love to have coffee with friends, so if you ever want to share one, call me!
